2007 Pay Hearing

The State Civil Service Commission will hold a
public hearing on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 to consider proposed changes to the
Classification and Pay Plan.
The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be
held in the auditorium of the Claiborne Building, 1201 Third Street, Baton
Rouge, Louisiana.
The Commission intends to rescind the pay grids
approved at the June 6, 2007 meeting.
These grids reflected improved minimums to all pay schedules; however,
due to the mechanics of implementing the improved maximums found herein, a new
grid reflecting improved minimums and maximums must be adopted. These pay grids can be found in Exhibit I and
Exhibit I1 below.
The Commission will consider the following

BELOW HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN INTERIM APPROVAL BY THE CIVIL SERVICE DIRECTOR. THESE CHANGES WILL NOT BECOME EFFECTIVE
UNLESS ADOPTED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AND APPROVED BY THE
GOVERNOR. IF ADOPTED BY THE COMMISSION
AND APPROVED BY THE GOVERNOR, THE GOVERNOR WILL SET THE EFFECTIVE DATE.

EXHIBIT I: Changes to Pay Schedules, Grid, and
Implementation Orders
In
addition to the proposed raise to the
maximums
(Exhibit I) of the AS, MS, TS, WS, and SS schedules by 10% and the PS schedule
by 14% to be effective June 30, 2007, we are proposing an increase to the
minimums (Exhibit I1) of all
six pay schedules to be effective July 2, 2007.
Both grids are attached.
A supplement
adding/changing items in this exhibit may be issued at the Commission
Hearing.

us any comments that you consider pertinent by close of business July 17, 2007. If you would like to appear before the
Commission to present your comments orally, you are invited to do so and are
requested to notify the Department of Civil Service of such intentions in
