Subject:            Agency and Statewide Workforce Profiles

On March 30, 2007 the Department of Civil Service mailed Agency Workforce Profiles to individual state agencies consisting of a snapshot of each agency workforce as of the end of December 2006.  These profiles can be used as a starting point in developing a workforce plan for your agency.  Each profile breaks down an agency workforce by EEO-4 job category and for each category, summarizes data such as number of employees, average age of employees, number of employees who retired last year, number of employees eligible to retire but not in DROP, number of employees currently in DROP and number of employees eligible to retire within five years. 

 

Agencies may request more detailed breakdowns for each category such as listing names of employees eligible to retire within five years, names of employees currently in DROP, etc. by contacting Jackie Garrison of our Management Information Systems section at Jackie.garrison@la.gov.

 

If your agency has not received its Agency Workforce Profile, you may also contact Jackie Garrison at the above email address and request one.  They can be generated for any separate personnel area.

 

In order to facilitate your workforce planning efforts, you may find it helpful to compare your Agency Workforce Profile to the overall statewide profile.  This Statewide Workforce Profile averaging results for all agencies is attached.
