Civil Service Tests
For certain positions within state service, the Department of Civil Service requires that applicants take a test to be eligible for hire.
Each link below gives you information on a test that the Department of Civil Service administers. Within the links, you will find a list of jobs which are associated with the test, a link to apply for the test, and sample test questions.
For applicants who need to test, applying within the LA Careers system will be a two-step process. First, you will select a test below and apply to take the test. Then, once you have tested, you will apply for individual job vacancies.
Please note that after applying for a test, you
must wait 90 days before reapplying to take it

Test Locations
Once you have decided which test to take, you should then select the location of the center where you would like to test.
